The Pathway To Success Really Is Easy To Find
The pathway to success really is easy to find.
All you need to do is find someone who has achieved what you are trying to do, and then you need to do what they did.
And there are ways of doing this…
But rest assured, if they have done it themselves, and they have been able to help others also to achieve success by teaching and coaching those people, then you too can be successful.
The only thing that will prevent you from being successful is if you choose to not do what they tell you is necessary to be successful.
That choice by you is one that you make.
You can either follow the lessons of the successful person.
Or you can choose not to.
And if you choose not to, it’s because:
- You don’t believe that you can do it
- You don’t think that the path required will work for you
- You think that you can work out another way that will be easier/better/quicker/less expensive.
From what I’ve seen…
As I’ve seen, from being a coach and from looking through my own eyes as a coach:
- People who don’t believe they can do it are often incorrect. But because of their limiting belief, they believe they have made the correct decision.
- People who don’t think that the path required will work for them are always incorrect. There’s nothing wrong with the path. And there will always be someone who comes along after, and follows that path, and achieves the successful outcome.
- People who think they can work out another way that will be easier/better/quicker/less expensive are always incorrect. The best way has already been worked out…
And in each of these three instances, the delay caused by the making of the incorrect decision is costly.
The delay costs time [that can never be recovered].
And the delay has opportunity costs, because so much progress could be made easily [but is not made] while the “student” is trying to work things out for themselves…
And in each of these instances, the incorrect decision is “justified” with flawed logic, and denial…
As one of my coaches told me…
If a process has worked for one person, and if that person has been able to help another person to succeed by teaching them and mentoring them, then the only reason that someone fails to be successful with this lesson is that they fail to follow the instructions of the original successful person.
Imagine this…
Imagine a swimming coach who tells a budding swimmer to swim in a certain way, and to practice for a certain amount of time so that the new method of swimming becomes ingrained into the student as “second nature”.
Is the failure of the student to reach their full potential the fault of the coach [who gave perfect instruction] or is it the failure of the student to apply themselves and learn and practice and rehearse those instructions?
Any chef will tell you…
Any chef will tell you that when you change the recipe, when you change the ingredients, when you change the temperatures, when you change the cooking times, the meal being prepared will taste different.
As a budding chef, are you going to follow Nigella’s recipe to the letter, or are you going to “think you know better” and try and wing it?
If you’re trying to be a successful chef, which way would you choose?
